Culinary Camp


Culinary Camp OVERNIGHT CAMP
Two day with one overnight.
Sessions: June 12 – 13; June 26 – 27, July 17 – 18; August 7 – 8, 2008

Students will be scheduled starting at 9:30 the first day until dinner at 5 PM. The second day will start with breakfast at 8:30 AM with the graduation dinner and etiquette at 4:30 PM. Tuition of $450. covers supplies, foods for preparation, three tickets for graduation (two guests and one student) and the student meals during camp. The Camp will pay $35. lodging either with a host family in Lindsborg or towards a room at the Viking Motel if accompanied by a parent or parental approved adult.

WEEKDAY CAMP
2 – 4:30 Mon, Tues, Wed., Thurs., and 2 – 5PM Fri.
Sessions: June 16 – 20; July 7 – 11; July 21 – 25
The $395. tuition covers the cost of foods, three graduation dinners (two guest and one student), supplies and snacks prepared by the student.

Objectives:
Prepare students about nutrition, food safety, etiquette and basic food preparations with garnishing techniques. Camp is suitable for ages 8 – 18 years of age. Parents may join their camper for the same fee but learning materials are geared to the young student.
    Culinary Camp
  • Small camps will allow for hand-on experiences with a ratio of 1:2 students to instructors.
  • Students will work under supervision learning hand-washing, knife skills, stove safety, food preparation with safety and garnishing.
  • Students will plan the graduation dinner for two invited guests per student. Additional graduation tickets may be purchased for an additional $18. plus tax and gratuity.
  • Students must have a signed permit for camp transportation to the local butcher to learn about cuts of meat and selections of meats.
  • A working etiquette program will include invitations, RSVP protocol, dining protocol, table setting, napkin folding and introduction protocols.

A non-refundable deposit is due with registration. The remainder tuition is due in full 45 days before the start of camp along with parental permission and emergency contact papers.
